Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO): Net Neutrality

Watch this... it’s funny but he's spot on with his criticism. The US government is basically in bed with the telecoms, and are trying to fix something that isn't broken - the internet.

Why do they want to "fix it?" Because they want to shake down businesses for all they are worth even if it means driving up prices for consumers, and fucking up the consumer experience and the internet overall. And why is the government ok with this? Because the telecoms are spending $$$ millions of dollars in lobbying money to get politicians elected, and how do those politicians pay the telecoms back - by putting their people in positions of power and passing laws/regulations that are lopsidedly beneficial to the telecoms. Lol

So what’s good for the public never enters the picture. It’s all about who's got the most bought and paid for politicians in their back pocket, and how many of their people are in positions of power. VIVA La Democracia!
